"Branch of the UNSCDF responsible mostly for naval operations in space, though they sometimes operate in the oceans with their terrestrial arm. Its roles include ship-to-ship combat, orbital bombardment, the deployment of atmospheric and space fighters, and the delivery of UNSC Marines, especially ODSTs, into combat."

Gameplay Wise Edit

Many branches in the ship are considered to be part of the Navy, and as such use Naval ranking. Navy, in this sense is referring to the characters on the ship that perform basic ground scans, and many other things included in the faction description.

The Navy operates ships in terrestrial waters as well as space, the pinnacle of the Navy is its space operations. The Navy can take pride in its flag ship, "The culmination of Human achievement" the UNSC Infinity. In canon it is currently undergoing trials, it will not be commissioned until February 2557. The Navy has a good spectrum of authority on its ships.

The Current ship the 5th MEU is on is the UNSC Warspite, a Paris Class Heavy Frigate boasting 12 M910 Point Defense Guns, Hundreds of Archer Missiles and a good spirited crew. It's current commanding officer is Captain George Burke, following his first officer Commander Ned Casper. The Warspite's motto being "Through adversity to the stars". It should be noted that Captain Burke has a habit of telling people to "Shut up." When he finds them annoying.

Cryptologist Technician:

Analyzing encrypted electronic communications. Jamming enemy radar signals. Deciphering information in foreign languages. Maintaining the state-of-the-art equipment and networks used to generate top secret intel.

Their responsibilities include:

  • Collecting, analyzing and reporting on communication signals
  • Utilizing computers, specialized computer-assisted communications equipment and video display terminals
  • Serving as an important part of the Intelligence Department in its mission to gain a deep understanding of the inner workings of adversaries and develop unmatched knowledge of the battlespace during wartime

Information Systems Technician:

In the Navy, information technology (IT) plays an important role in everything from electronic mail systems to shipboard control systems to Special Intelligence (SI) systems. Navy Information System Technicians (IT specialists) are Enlisted Sailors who engage in a broad range of responsibilities including network administration, database management and computer hardware and software implementation.

Their responsibilities include:

  • Operating and maintaining Navy global satellite telecommunications systems
  • Serving as admin on mainframe computers and local and wide area networks
  • Implementing micro-computer systems throughout the Fleet
  • Serving as an important part of the Intelligence Department in its mission to gain a deep understanding of the inner workings of adversaries and developing unmatched knowledge of the battlespace during wartime

Their responsibilities include:

  • Operating the ship helm
  • Administration over all Navigation actions of the Vessel
  • Crewman Tasks when not dealing with Navigation
  • Working directly with the Quartermaster and the Master Chief as well as assisting them in day-to-day duties aboard the ship

Electronics Technician:

Navy Electronics Technicians (ETs) are an exclusive group of professionals specially trained in the electrical engineering, computer and aerospace fields. They help operate and manage the electronics systems and subsystems of the UNSC

  • Maintaining, repairing and adjusting a huge range of cutting-edge electronic equipment
  • Work with equipment used for everything from communications, detection and tracking to recognition and identification, navigation, and electronic countermeasures (Alongside CT/IT Professionals).

Hull Technician:

Hull maintenance technicians plan, supervise, and perform tasks necessary for fabrication, installation and repair of all types of shipboard structures, plumbing, sheet metal fabrication, carpentry and piping systems; organize, supervise, and train personnel in maintenance and hull and mechanical repair; supervise and perform tasks in procurement and issuance of supplies and repair parts; instruct personnel and enforce safety and security precautions; prepare records and reports.
